Vincent O'Brien
Vincent is a specialist in branding, communication and media, having
over a quarter of a century’s experience in different areas of
marketing.
After a varied early career as translator,
economist and market researcher, Vincent spent
sixteen years in strategic
planning and branding consultancy with The Decision Shop (Bates
Advertising Agency) where he worked in a wide variety of markets and
countries on branding issues with major multinational companies
including Esso, Shell, Benckiser, UDV, Electrolux, Mars and Reckitt and
Colman. He also worked as a long-term marketing consultant with a
number of clients such as Pharmacia & Upjohn and Perstorp in Sweden, TV2
in Norway and Brio worldwide, and has wide experience of brand naming
projects including Lufthansa’s US food service company, Chef Solutions,
and working on some fourteen name changes for European Mars brands.
Vincent is also founder of OBICO, a small
consultancy designed to develop and apply pragmatic, research-based
solutions to marketing problems. OBICO’s recent clients have included
IKEA, HaPe Toys (China), Mago Mobile (Russia), Rieber Foods (Norway),
Cardo
Doors (Sweden), Delsey (France) and Ferring Pharmaceutical(UK).
He speaks regularly at conferences and lectures to university students
on marketing issues. He has some command of most European languages.
